Thinking of remodeling your home? Be careful which projects you choose as not all will give you a return on your money. It's a new year and you want to do some remodeling. Before you start, check out the top projects that will yield the highest return on your investment.
Like last year, the number one project was the replacement of your garage door. It just about paid for itself at 97.5% of your money back. Overall this year, homeowners should expect a 66% return on their money on renovations. Some of the projects are really worth it if they are done on the front of the house and it gives your home great curb appeal. The trend is leaning toward more outside projects than interior projects.
After garage doors, the next project is manufactured stone added to the front of the house. Not very exciting but you'll receive a very good return. The third project would be adding a metal roof. While a metal roof can be expensive, this type of roof will last you much longer than a typical asphalt roof.
If you have to do something inside than the first project should be the kitchen. Most buyers want to know they have a good kitchen that works for them.
