How To Stay Sane While Selling Your Home
Dated: February 9 2019
Did you know that selling a home rates one of the top most stressful events in a person's life? With these tips, it doesn't have to be! I can't guarantee that there won't be stress... but here are the best ways to sell AND keep your sanity!
1. Hand Over the Reins: Having an experienced realtor to manage your listing will alleviate A LOT of stress. Your agent should be able to tell you what price your home can sell for and have a proven marketing strategy. They should map out a plan so you feel confident that your home is priced right and getting exposure to buyers. Your agent should touch base with you on a regularly scheduled basis to keep you updated and informed and do the leg work needed to get your home sold. Your realtor should keep track of weekly checklists so that you are meeting all your deadlines on time, are educated about what to expect and can feel confident in your decisions when an offer comes in.
2. Keep it Simple: Decluttering your home can help you feel less stress. Keep only what is needed in your home so when you are ready to move, the majority of the work is done.
3. Take Some Time for Yourself: Did I mention that selling a home can be stressful? Take some time for you while your agent holds an open house. Get a massage, go shopping or spend some time with family or friends.
4. Remember Your End Goal: When you start to feel stress, take a moment to remember your end goal. Are you moving into a better home for you or your family? Retiring? Whatever your end goal is, it is in sight!
