Best Resources To Be In The Know

Are you brand new to Frederick??  Or maybe you lived here for a while and you feel out of the loop??!

As a transplant of 9 years to Frederick, I can certainly say I have been in both situations!   I was brand new to Frederick County while also commuting to DC and Baltimore for work.   My husband and I fell in love with Frederick finding a ton of great restaurants, perfect locale for both of us to commute, and gorgeous surrounding nature...but we fell short of finding things to do that would help us make more friends and be a little more "in the know" of what is happening in Frederick.

So here are some really great sites that helped us get to know Frederick and our neighbors better!

www.fredericksocialsports.com   - Frederick Social Sports helps us become more active during the work week, while also making friends with people of all ages and all walks of life.  We met some great folks while doing this being so new to Frederick !

-https://www.visitfrederick.org/events/   -  Frederick was practically built for festivals and events!  From Jazz to Food to Arts to almost anything else you can think of!  There is always something going on at Baker Park, Carroll Creak or at the Fair Grounds!

https://www.visitfrederick.org/visit/visitor-center/ - A little pro-tip here...visit the Visitor's Center!! They have coupons for local restaurants and shops just sitting there waiting for you!  They also have a really well made video of the history of Frederick County.  It is truly fascinating and will give you a lot to talk about while showing your friends and family around town when they visit!

- www.facebook.com - surprisingly, Facebook is one of my top sources to events and happenings.  You can follow your local HOA/Neighborhood, local fire and police department, as well as all of the Frederick event and visitor pages.   Your news feed will be full of useful information if you find the right groups to follow that peak your interest!

I have always felt Frederick was a friendly town!  We have grown so much over these 9 years, and I'm predicting that we keep the small town feel with all of the perks of a fabulous city!

Cheers to Frederick!
