How To Sell Your Home When You Have KidsImage title

Selling your home can be stressful!  Add a house full of kids, and you may be wondering how you'll accomplish staging, showings and getting sold.  The good news is - that people do it ALL the time.  You can and WILL succeed with the help of these tips...

1.  Figure Out What Goes:  Having kids means lots of toys, and since you'll want to de-clutter, its important to decide what items are must haves and what items can be put into storage until your home gets sold.  You still want your children to have their favorite toys, but be selective.  Toys with lots of little pieces, or really large toys may need to be packed up for the meantime.

2.  Make it Easy to Hide the Clutter:  Storage ottomans or bins that can hide toys and clothes are your best friend.  These items can look like nice pieces of furntiure or home accents, but can also be the best place to put all your children's toys.  A large decorative bin in each child's room?  An ottoman that opens and doubles as storage?  A shelve with small cnavas baskets?  Yes, yes, yes!  These are also perfect for showings when you need to pickup quickly!

3.  Make Dinnertime Easy:  Cooking for a large family can be messy AND time consuming.  On nights when you have showings, take the family out for a meal, have a picnic in the park or visit a friend or family member.  Crockpot meals are also a great idea to start in the morning and easily serve at dinnertime without all the dirty dishes!

4.  Don't let the mess add up:  A great everyday cleaning tip is to spend 5 minutes in each room.  Set a timer on your phone and clean the room you are in until the timer goes off....then move to the next room.  It will make a huge difference even if each room isn't spick and span.  And, you should be able to keep large messes at bay in under an hour a day.

5.  Rent a storage unit:  Rent a storage unit and store all the big toys and packed up items not needed.  The less clutter in your home, the less mess there is to make. And, this tip will help you get sold quick enough that your children should soon be able to get their less important items back before you know it!!
